Privacy statement
Who we are
The Paint Atelier Algarve, a painting company based in Albufeira, Algarve, Portugal. For any question about your data, write to hello@thepaintatelier.com.
What this website collects
Nothing. This website has no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising scripts and no visitor database. Our fonts are hosted on our own server, so no data is sent to third parties when you open a page.
The contact form does not send anything to us by itself. When you press the button, it opens WhatsApp or your own email program with the message pre-filled. Nothing leaves your device until you press send there.
What we receive when you contact us
If you call, message or email us, we receive what you choose to share: usually your name, contact details, the address of the property and what you would like painted. We use it only to answer you, prepare a quote and carry out the work.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a job are removed once they are clearly no longer relevant. Where a job goes ahead, we keep the quote, correspondence and invoice for as long as Portuguese tax and civil law requires.
Who else sees it
Nobody, unless it is necessary for your job (for example a scaffolding supplier) or required by law. We do not sell or share data for marketing.
Message services
If you contact us via WhatsApp, your message is handled by WhatsApp under its own privacy terms. The same applies to your own email provider.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Email hello@thepaintatelier.com and we will respond. You also have the right to complain to the Portuguese data protection authority (CNPD).
Terms and conditions
Quotes
Quotes are free and without obligation, are based on the surfaces and condition agreed at the inspection, and are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise on the quote itself.
Fixed price and additional work
The price on the accepted quote is fixed for the work described. If, once surfaces are opened up, additional repairs prove necessary, we stop, explain the situation and only continue after your written approval.
Planning
We confirm a start date and a handover date in writing. Exterior work depends on weather; where rain, wind or temperature make sound work impossible, we reschedule and inform you the same day.
Payment
Payment terms are stated on the quote. Unless otherwise agreed, invoices are payable within 14 days of the handover date.
Guarantee
We give a written guarantee on workmanship and on the paint systems applied, on the terms set out in your quote. The guarantee does not cover damage from building movement, water ingress from other causes, or later work by others.
Cancellation
You may cancel a planned job free of charge up to 7 days before the start date. Later cancellations may incur costs already committed, for example scaffolding hire or mixed paint.
Liability
We are insured. Our liability is limited to the value of the work concerned, except in cases of intent or gross negligence.
Applicable law
Portuguese law applies. Consumers may also use the European online dispute-resolution platform.
